Skelmersdale Walk-in Centre
Skelmersdale Walk-in Centre is here to help you and your family get quick advice and care when you need it, without an appointment. You can drop in for support with minor illnesses and injuries, and speak to experienced healthcare staff who are there to help you feel confident about your child’s care.
About the team
We are a team of GPs and nurses at Skelmersdale Walk-in Centre, patients do not have to be registered to see a GP or nurse at the walk in centre. We help people with busy lifestyles that need access to flexible and convenient health services and may have difficulty accessing a convenient appointment at their registered practice.
We can also help patients who may not be registered with a GP practice who might normally attend Accident and Emergency (A&E) for treatment which could be provided by a GP or nurse.
The centre offers support for a wide range of everyday health concerns. You can get help with things like tummy problems, coughs, colds and flu symptoms, allergies, breathing difficulties and skin conditions. The team can also treat minor injuries such as cuts, burns, strains and sprains, as well as provide wound care and dressings. They can offer advice on men’s and women’s health concerns, including minor urinary or genital problems and emergency contraception, and can prescribe medication where appropriate. You can also ask for guidance on local NHS, social care and community services.
